Every figure on this page is in US dollars, as the Instantly dashboard reports it, whichever country the client is in.

Every figure in a Result line is read straight off that panel.

The value per opportunity is the client's own number, not ours, and every client gives us their floor rather than an average. It is the least a new customer is worth to them, so the pipeline figure is the conservative version of what the month produced.

We forward a positive reply to the client and stop there. What closed after that is confidential, the same reason none of these companies are named. So there are no meeting counts and no close rates here. What each Result adds is what the replies themselves looked like.

Lists start with a data provider and are then enriched for a buying signal, which is what decides the week an email goes out and gives it something specific to say.

A specialist engineering recruiter in Coventry, seven consultants.

Problem

They had paid an agency to run outbound for five months on a retainer that cost more than a consultant's salary and produced a handful of meetings, none of which became a brief. They were also one of nine agencies on a preferred supplier list, so roles reached them only after the internal team had failed for six weeks.

Solution

Every company on the provider list got checked for ads that had been reposted, which is the signal that internal hiring has failed. Those hiring managers got an email about that exact role, with one candidate offered at an introductory fee. The first list came off job boards and was the same list every competitor was using, so it got rebuilt on companies whose ads had been live over 30 days. Every email named a specific role, so each one was checked by hand before it went out, which is why the list took three weeks to build before anything sent.

Result

27 positive replies, $81,000 of pipeline at the $3,000 introductory fee. Every reply was passed over to their team. The reposted ad angle was the only one that got past the supplier list.

A 14 person agency in Melbourne running a permanent desk.

Problem

Permanent hiring stopped in April and permanent was the only thing they did.

Solution

The list moved to sectors still hiring, supermarkets, logistics and aged care, aimed at the operations manager and, in the smaller groups, the owner. Contract cover replaced permanent search as the offer, which the desk had never sold before. A first attempt at their existing clients produced nothing but freeze notifications.

Result

20 positive replies, $60,000 at $3,000, the lowest margin they would run an assignment for. Replies were forwarded to their team. Not a good month, and it kept the desk alive.

August 2021

A 20 person agency in Chicago placing skilled trades.

Problem

Candidates were the scarce side of the market and clients would not pay upfront for a search nobody could promise to fill.

Solution

The email named the specific people already on their bench, with the skills spelled out, and offered an introductory fee on the first hire. Most of these were builders under 30 staff, so it went to the owner rather than a hiring manager. A generic availability email had gone out first and read like every other agency. Naming three real candidates changed it.

Result

25 positive replies, $100,000 at the $4,000 introductory fee. We forward the reply and stop there. Every reply was about a specific person, which is the point.

August 2023

A 15 person agency in Reading placing finance and operations roles.

Problem

Their pipeline swung on referrals from two old clients, so some months were full and others empty. Clients were also cutting agency spend and moving hiring in house.

Solution

Firms that had just cut their own talent team went on the list, since the hiring had not gone anywhere, and the offer was overflow support per role. The email went to the managing director, because the person who made that cut is the one who feels it. An earlier list of firms actively hiring was too competitive, and the pivot to firms who had just lost their recruiter was what opened it up. A version offering a discounted fee was dropped for inviting a negotiation before there was even a brief.

Result

35 positive replies, $140,000 at the $4,000 introductory fee. Each one was passed across to them. Losing an internal recruiter was the trigger, not an open role.

A 25 person agency in Perth placing construction and trades.

Problem

They had been buying job board credits and search ads for years, and the cost of a lead had passed the fee on a placement. Job ads also reached them at the same second as every other agency in the state.

Solution

A bought list of construction firms is just names. We enriched it against site approvals and project funding notices, which told us who was about to hire, and wrote to the operations lead weeks before a role existed. A version aimed at HR was slower and more procedural, so the list stayed on operations. The approvals data had to be cleaned by hand before any of it was usable, which is the unglamorous half of the job.

Result

54 positive replies, $162,000 at the $3,000 first placement fee. We hand the reply across and step out. Getting there before the ad was the entire advantage.

June 2025

A 12 person agency in Denver placing warehouse and driver temps.

Problem

The director had been running the outreach between client calls for four months. It cost almost nothing and never got a full week of anyone's attention, so it never built into anything. They still heard about roles only once the ad was live and four other agencies had called.

Solution

The provider list gave us the companies. Enriching it against new depot and second shift announcements gave us the week to write in, and the email went to the operations manager before the ad went up. Two of the first three angles were switched off inside a month. What held was the one naming the site and the shift pattern.

Result

67 positive replies across June, $134,000 at $2,000 an opportunity, the floor they gave us for one assignment rather than a typical one. Replies go over to them, so we never see the close. New site announcements did more than any wording change.
